Emirates forceasts demand will bounce back in Summer next year

Emirates President, Tim Clark, stated the carrier expects to see a recovery in passenger demand by the Northern Summer 2010 (Reuters, 02-Sep-09). Mr Clark added the carrier is "not sure" if it will place an order for new aircraft at the Dubai Air Show in Nov-2009, but added, "that's not to say that in the next year we shouldn't do anything."

Emirates: "On the basis of what we see looking ahead, I think we'll be OK. I think things will start to come back in the Summer of next year. We're in a deep recession and we're 20% up [in terms of traffic]. What's it going to do next Summer if there is a return to normalcy?" Tim Clark, President. Source: Reuters, 02-Sep-09.
