Emirates could change order for A350XWBs; -900 too small

Emirates President Tim Clark stated the carrier is considering changing the order made with Airbus in Nov-2007 for A350 equipment (WAPA, 15-Feb-2011). The carrier stated it could swap the supply of 70 A350XWB aircraft, of which 50 are A350-900s and 20 A350-1000s, to include only A350-1000s. Mr Clark stated the 290-seat A350-900s are too small for the carrier, with Mr Clark stating the carrier can "no longer tolerate" aircraft with fewer than 300 seats. However, the -1000 is scheduled to enter service after the -900.
