easyJet: Branding and scale key for pan-European LCC operations
easyJet group commercial director Catherine Lynn, speaking at CAPA’s Airlines in Transition Conference on 25/26-Mar-2015, stated (26-Mar-2015) brand and scale are important for the pan-European LCCs. The LCC subsidiaries of full-service carriers, such as Transavia and Eurowings are “so far behind” the established pan-European LCCs in these areas. It takes a “phenomenal amount of discipline” for a full-service carrier to successfully run a true LCC operation within its portfolio.
