Eurowings is a German low cost carrier part of the Lufthansa Group. The carrier commenced low cost services in 2015, as part of Lufthansa's strategy to compete with LCCs in the European market. The carrier operated low cost direct flights within Europe as well as long haul destinations from its locations in Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.

In 2020, Lufthansa Group announced plans to realign Eurowings to a short haul and point-to-point carrier, transferring long haul operations to network operators under the airline group.
