Singapore Airlines' A380 to fly Zurich

14-Jan-2010 From 28 March 2010, Singapore Airlines’ customers travelling between Singapore and Zurich will get to fly on the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380, when the superjumbo makes its way to the Swiss city.

Daily A380 services between Singapore and Zurich will replace the existing 12 weekly frequencies between the two cities, which are operated with smaller Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Operations are subject to the airport being certified for A380 flights.

SQ346 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 0110hrs, arriving in Zurich at 0800hrs (all times local). On the return leg, SQ345 will depart Zurich at 1200hrs and touch down in Singapore at 0605hrs the next day. Detailed flight schedules are listed in the Annex.

Zurich will be the third city in Europe and the seventh in Singapore Airlines' network to receive the A380. The Airline started operating the superjumbo in October 2007 to Sydney and subsequently added services to London, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Melbourne.

Customers travelling on the A380 will experience unsurpassed standards of luxury and sophistication in air travel.

Exclusively available on the Airline's A380s are the Singapore Airlines Suites, where each Suite is a private cabin in the sky, providing the ultimate in luxury and privacy. Behind discrete sliding doors is a spacious and truly personal area, with lavish furnishings and finishes. Suites come furnished with luxurious and fully adjustable leather seats, upholstered by world-renowned Poltrona Frau, and full-sized beds.

Business Class customers can enjoy a 34-inch wide seat, the widest in its class. Each seat has direct aisle access and can be converted into a comfortable wide bed, simply by folding down the seat back.

Economy Class customers can also enjoy all-new seats ergonomically designed to maximise knee and legroom and boasting intelligent features such as non-intrusive reading lights and height-adjustable leather headrests with side panels.

Customers across all three classes can also enjoy the latest movies, TV programmes and a large library of CDs on the newest version of KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines' award-winning inflight entertainment system. Suites are fitted with 23-inch screens, Business Class seats feature 15.4-inch screens and Economy Class 10.6-inch screens.

Singapore Airlines currently has ten A380s in service, a further nine on firm order and options on six more.
