06-Oct-2009 WestJet today announced the launch of a new on-board point-of-sale system, which enables guests to purchase their buy-on-board items with credit cards. The system, GuestLogix Mobile Virtual Store(TM), is now available on all WestJet flights.

"WestJetters strive every day to deliver a world-class guest experience," said Bob Cummings, WestJet Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing. "We're always looking for new ways to enhance that experience, and giving guests the option to pay for on-board items with cash or credit card is one way to make our guest service better." WestJet guests will still enjoy the convenience of paying in either Canadian or U.S. currency, with the added choice of using their Visa, MasterCard or American Express cards.

"The new on-board point-of-sale system opens the door for enhancing and expanding WestJet's on-board product lineup," continued Bob Cummings. "The convenience of its automation also fits perfectly with our culture since our WestJetters will spend more time interacting directly with our guests and providing them with more choices on board."

"We had a successful launch of our on-board retail transaction platform on all WestJet flights," said Tom Douramakos, President and CEO of GuestLogix. "We are looking forward to continuing to bring WestJet the tools and services necessary to grow their onboard profitability and bring WestJet guests a new and convenient in-flight experience."
