Air Berlin: Expanded service starts from winter schedule 2009/10
28-Sep-2009 Air Berlin, Germany’s second largest airline, is adding another 10 new destinations, 54 non-stop flights and even more connecting flights to its route network.
In addition to expanding its service, especially from Cologne and Stuttgart, the airline will soon have its jets taking off from Memmingen airport as well. Air Berlin is positioning itself as the largest German carrier in Italy and strengthening its presence in Austria.
For the first time ever, Air Berlin is offering a new service from Cologne/Bonn to Morocco and Tunisia. There are direct flights to Tangiers and Nador, as well as Tunis. In addition there are non-stop flights from Berlin/Tegel, Cologne and Munich to Cairo. The airports of Hanover, Malaga and Thessaloniki can be reached by direct flights from Stuttgart. Air Berlin is operating a service from Stuttgart to a total of seven Italian destinations, including Venice, Naples and Palermo.
Four further destinations in Italy are being added to the schedule: Cagliari and Palermo, Naples and Bari on the Apennine peninsula. Air Berlin is now incorporating Klagenfurt on the Wörthersee in its Austrian network and operating more frequent services from Salzburg, Innsbruck and Graz. The winter timetable starts on 1st November 2009 and ends on 30th April 2010. Early bookers can make sure of getting bargain fares from just 29 euros one way, including taxes, charges, frequent-flyer miles and onboard service.
