DHL off to a 'dynamic' start in 1Q2011; EBIT up 23%

DHL revenue up 7% - financial highlights for the three months ended 31-Mar-2011:

  • Revenue: EUR12,842 million, +6.9% year-on-year;
    • Mail: EUR3514 million, +0.2%;
    • Express: EUR2765 million, +5.5%;
    • Global freight forwarding: EUR3581 million, +14.9%;
    • Supply chain: EUR3273 million, +7.5%;
  • EBIT: EUR629 million, +22.9%;
    • Mail: EUR373 million, -4.1%;
    • Express: EUR216 million, +96.4%;
    • Global freight forwarding: EUR69 million, +30.2%;
    • Supply chain: EUR78 million, +39.3%;
  • Net profit: EUR325 million, -81.4%;
  • Capital expenditure: EUR252 million, +29.2%;
  • Total assets: EUR37,434 million, -0.9% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2010;
  • Cash and cash equivalents: EUR2943 million, -13.8% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2010;
  • Total liabilities: EUR17,439 million, -1.1% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2010;
  • FY2011 forecast:
    • EBIT: EUR2200 million to EUR2400 million;
      • Mail: EUR1000 million to EUR1100 million;
