Delta and China Eastern commence codeshare services

Delta Air Lines and China Eastern Airlines announced (01-Jun-2011) the commencement of codeshare services from 01-Jun-2011. Under the agreement, Delta flight numbers have been added to 49 China Eastern-operated domestic flights in China, as well as non-stop trans-Pacific flights connecting Shanghai with Los Angeles and New York. China Eastern flight numbers will be added on 38 Delta-operated US domestic flights as well as trans-Pacific service connecting Detroit and Atlanta to Shanghai. The Delta code has also been added to China Eastern-operated flights between Shanghai and New York and Los Angeles. China Eastern customers will gain access to 21 North American cities on Delta's domestic network, as well as Delta's non-stop services between Shanghai and Detroit and Atlanta. This summer, Delta will operate 47 weekly flights out of China. New service added this summer includes twice weekly services between Shanghai and Atlanta from 05-Jun-2011 and service between Detroit and Beijing (each five times weekly) commencing 01-Jul-2011.
