Delta Air Lines testing use of facial recognition technology for check in and boarding

Delta Air Lines GM Australia and New Zealand & Virgin Australia JV Clare Wheatley, speaking at the CAPA Melbourne Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit, stated (24-May-2018) Delta is in the testing phase for the use of facial recognition technology to enable check in and boarding. Ms Wheatley noted Delta offers radio frequency identification tracking via its Fly Delta mobile application and recently improved its official website. She added that the airline is now one of the largest digital companies worldwide.
