Delta Air Lines sees slump in Asia traffic

Delta Air Lines president Edward Bastien stated the Japanese earthquake and tsunami has caused the number of passengers travelling with Delta through Asia to decline significantly (ABTN, 18-Apr-2011). Mr Bastien stated the carrier has seen a 25% reduction in traffic through Asia. He also stated that Delta had previously seen USD2 billion of revenue from Japan. However, he stated that the recovery will likely occur at a faster pace than anticipated.
