Delta Air Lines: 'In the world we all live in, JVs are critical'

Delta Air Lines EVP & general counsel Peter Carter, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2016, stated (11-Apr-2016) it would be "fascinating" to take a "deep and hard look" into the rules regarding airline foreign ownership. He cited Brazil's aviation industry as being "no longer healthy" or able to able to support itself. "Why isn't Delta allowed to invest [in Brazilian airlines] at the end of the day? In the world we all live in, JVs are critical," he stated. Delta has an equity stake in Brazilian airline Gol.
