CSA Czech Airlines pax down 11% in 2015

CSA Czech Airlines reported (19-Feb-2016) the following traffic highlights for the year ended 31-Dc-2015:

  • Passenger numbers: 2 million, -11.5% year-on-year;
  • Available seat miles: -25%;
  • Aircraft seat capacity: +5pp.

The carrier deployed a fleet of 16 aircraft in 2015, down from a 23 aircraft fleet in 2014. CSA Czech Airlines board of directors chairman Jozef Sinčák said: "This year we have planned a mild increase of operations. We have prepared several new routes, for example to Helsinki, Birmingham, Zagreb, Skopje, Pisa, Malta and Odesa. Czech Airlines is going to lease one Boeing 737-400 on an ACMI basis for six months to cover the increased operations during the main summer season. Concurrently, one, operating leased, ATR 72 aircraft will be added to the company fleet." [more - original PR]
