Chengdu Shuangliu Airport handles 30 millionth passenger of 2012 on 12-Dec-2012

China's Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport stated (12-Dec-2012) it handled its 30 millionth passenger on 12-Dec-2012, making the airport the fifth in mainland China and the only one in central-western China to have exceeded 30 million annual passengers. It has been only three years since the passenger numbers exceeded 20 million in 2009. In 2004, the passenger numbers broke through 10 million, reached 20 million in 2009, and welcomed 29 million in 2011, which ranked it fourth among cities in mainland China and is part of the world's Top 50. As the fourth largest aviation city in mainland China, the airport has 54 international (regional) routes covering 51 cities, and 141 domestic routes covering 95 cities. [more - original PR]
