Central Japan International Airport Co downgrades profit forecast

Central Japan International Airport Co, owner and operator of Chubu Centrair International Airport, reported a net profit of JPY800 million (USD9.6 million) in the six months ended 30-Sep-2010, citing increasing number of Chinese tourists to Japan and travel from Japan to Shanghai for the Shanghai World Expo (Kyodo, 11-Nov-2010). Details include:

  • Revenue*: USD260.9 million, +2.7% year-on-year;
    • Aeronautical: USD109.4 million, -0.6%;
    • Commercial and duty free: USD91.4 million, +7.6%;
  • Passenger numbers: 4.9 million, +4.2%;
  • Cargo volume:
    • International: 59,000 tons, +7.9%;
  • FY2011 forecast:
    • Revenue: USD501.4 million;
    • Profit: USD1.2 million.
