Cebu Pacific passenger numbers up 12% in 3Q2011

Cebu Pacific reports (18-Oct-2011) the following traffic highlights for the three months ended Sep-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.8 million, +12% year-on-year;
    • International: 660,000, +22%;
    • Domestic: 2.1 million;
  • Load factor: 84%;

Passenger numbers to/from Taiwan rose by 60% year-on-year in Q3 2011, while passengers to/from Vietnam grew by 56%. Traffic to/from South Korea also grew by 58% year-on-year in Q3 2011.

Cebu Pacific: "The number of CEB passengers grew faster than CEB's seat capacity in Q3 2011, so we are very happy with our growth on a traditionally lean travel season domestically. We expect these figures to surge further upward with long holidays, more flights and four new Airbus A320 aircraft that enter into service in the 4th quarter of this year," CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution, Candice Iyog.
