Cathay Pacific Group chair Patrick Healy, speaking on the sidelines at the IATA AGM, stated (03-Jun-2024) the airline expects to recover to 100% of pre-COVID-19 passenger capacity by 1Q2025. The carrier is currently at 80% of pre-pandemic capacity and serving 80 destinations. Mr Healy stated the network is expected to grow to 90 destinations by 1Q2025. He said he is "very confident in the future growth prospects" beyond 1Q2025, noting that Cathay is preparing for the expected 50% increase in capacity at Hong Kong International Airport when the three runway system is introduced in late 2024 or early 2025.
