Cathay Pacific and Air China cargo JV approved

Cathay Pacific stated it received approval from regulators to establish a freight JV with Air China (www.yicai.com, 17-Jan-2011). The partners are likely to put the venture into operation in about a month. The venture will increase the number of cargo aircraft from seven to 12 by the end of 2011, of which four will be configured Boeing aircraft from Cathay Pacific.
