CALC to expend fleet to 173 aircraft by the end of 2022

China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) reported (25-Aug-2016) the following long term business outlook:

  • Fleet and portfolio:
    • CALC is on schedule to expend fleet to 81 aircraft by the end of 2016 and to 173 by 2022;
    • Group plans to continue fleet expansion in a number of areas, including diversification of aircraft types and operational spheres. CALC signed an MoU with COMAC for 60 ARJ-21 aircraft in Jul-2016, as part of fleet portfolio diversification and expansion into regional aviation markets;
    • CALC aims to strengthen its relationships with different aircraft manufacturers;
  • Aircraft solutions:
    • CLAC has started work on its China Aircraft Disassembly Centre (CADC) at Harbin Taiping Airport;
    • CALC expects to complete a shareholding restructure of the CADC project during 2H2016, after which it will accelerate completion;
    • It is expected that construction of the CADC project will be completed in 2018;
    • CALC will continue to progress towards becoming a full-value chain aircraft solutions provider with a worldwide presence. The group intends to have a presence across aircraft acquisition and leasing, fleet management, aircraft disassembly and parts distribution. [more - original PR]
