CAAC to take strict approach to aircraft orders in 2010

CAAC Deputy Secretary, Wang Changshun, stated the aviation authority will undertake a strict approach towards the approval of new aircraft orders in 2010, adding China's aviation industry is expected to add 208 new aircraft and retiring 17 aircraft, for a net increase of 191 aircraft (China News, 13-Jan-2010). CAAC stated the country's domestic airlines are expected to transport 260 million passengers and 5.0 million tonnes of cargo in 2010, increases of 13% and 12% year-on-year, respectively.
