Brussels Airport: Partial restart of operations 'not yet decided', major test to be conducted

Brussels Airport announced (27-Mar-2016) a restart of operations in the "short term is not possible in the devastated infrastructure" and a partial restart of operations "is not yet decided". Brussels Airport began the implementation of temporary constructions and additional security measures on 24-Mar-2016 including temporary checkin desks. The facility is conducting a "major test" on 29-Mar-2016 to test passenger flows and measure security levels of the temporary constructions, in collaboration with Belgium's federal police force and the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority. For flights to recommence, Brussels Airport must gain regulatory approval from the Belgian government. [more - original PR]
