British Airways pax down 14.6%, premium traffic down 7% in Mar-2010

British Airways passenger numbers down 14.6% - traffic highlights in Mar-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 2.2 million, -14.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 74.7%, +2.0 ppts;
    • UK/Europe: 65.3%, +1.2 ppt;
    • Trans-Atlantic: 77.8%, +6.1 ppts;
    • Asia Pacific: 84.2%, +1.4 ppt;
    • Africa & Middle East: 71.0%, -4.7 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +6.4%. [more]

British Airways: “In March 2010 traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres, fell by 11.4% on March 2009. Passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres, was down 13.7%. This resulted in a passenger load factor increase of 2.0 points versus last year, to 74.7%%. Traffic comprised a 7.2% decrease in premium traffic and a 12.2% decrease in non-premium traffic,” Company statement. Source: British Airways, 07-Apr-2010.
