British Airways launches all-Business class London City-New York service

British Airways confirmed (29-Sep-09) the launch of an all-Business class London City-New York service - see Route Changes Table for more information. The service will operate via Shannon Airport for refuellling and US immigration processing. [more] BA's CEO, Willie Walsh expects the service may be profitable in the first year of operations due to strong demand (Bloomberg, 29-Sep-09). Premium travel historically accounts for 45% of BA's revenue, despite only representing 13% of seat sales. However, Mr Walsh added BA is yet to see signs of a recovery in business travel.
