Britain plans to increase air passenger duty to Caribbean
Caribbean tourism representatives recently commenced a new round of discussions with UK officials on 06-Sep-2010 over the British Government's plans to increase an air passenger tax for travellers to the region (BBCCaribbean, 06-Sep-2010). Currently, each economy class traveller to the Caribbean pays GBP50 in air passenger duty (APD). From 01-Nov-2010 it will increase to GBP75. The levy for premium economy, business and first class passengers will rise from GBP100 to GBP150.
