Brazil plans to invest USD372m on 176 regional airport

Brazil Transports, Ports and Civil Aviation Ministry announced (24-Aug-2016) plans to invest in 176 regional airports. The government will prioritise 53 of those airports, which will receive BRL300 million (USD93 million) in investment as of 2017 in order to become operational by 2020. The choice of these 176 airports considered indicators such as current capacity limitation, remoteness, profitability, 100km catchment, carriers' interest and proximity with large urban centres.
