Braathens Aviation discontinued its Airbus operations and filed for bankruptcy for Braathens International Airways and Braathens Crew, affecting about 200 employees. The board had shifted its focus to the ATR 72-600 fleet following declining demand from tour operators, unsuccessful financing efforts, and financial challenges from higher costs and delayed deliveries. The ATR-based ACMI operations and other subsidiaries were not subject to bankruptcy and continued as planned1.
