Boom Supersonic completes construction of production facility at Piedmont Triad Airport

Boom Supersonic completed (17-Jun-2024) construction of its 'Overture Superfactory' facility at Piedmont Triad International Airport. Boom stated the facility is the "first supersonic airliner factory in the US". Boom will now focus on the production floor and will procure and install tooling in partnership with Advanced Integration Technology. The first assembly line has capacity to produce 33 Overture supersonic aircraft p/a and Boom plans to build an additional line to grow to 66 aircraft p/a. The campus will also include a delivery centre for airlines such as American Airlines, Japan Airlines and United Airlines. The Boom manufacturing programme is estimated to add more than 2400 jobs and contribute at least USD32.3 billion to North Carolina's economy over 20 years. [more - original PR]
