Boeing hoping to increase Middle East market share to 50%

Boeing forecast Middle East airline traffic would expand at an average of 11% p/a until 2015 (Emirates Business 24/7, 17-May-2010). The LCC sector is expected to increase fourfold over the next five years. Customers in the region are expected to order 1,700 aircraft, 700 narrowbodies and 1,000 widebodies, over the next 20 years. Boeing stated it aims to increase its market share in the region from 40% to 50% over the same period.
