Qatar Airways placed a historic order for up to 210 Boeing widebody aircraft, comprising firm orders for 130 787s and 30 777-9s, with options for 50 more. Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer described it as "the largest aircraft order in our history" and the largest ever 787 order, positioning it as the largest 787 operator in the Middle East1. Boeing delivered 150 commercial aircraft in 2Q2025, including 24 787s and 13 777s2.
