Bangkok Airways forecasts 33% profit growth in 2012, net profit growth of 47% in 2011

Bangkok Airways reported a 46.7% year-on-year increase in net profit to THB1220 million (USD40.0 million) in 2011 and is expecting to report a 33% increase in profit to THB1600 million (USD52.4 million) in 2012. The carrier's president Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, as reported by Bangkok Post, attributed the growth to Thailand's expected political stability in 2012 and its status as a popular tourism destination. Bangkok Airways also reported a 16.5% increase in passenger numbers to 3.1 million in 2011 and is forecasting growth of 16% to 3.6 million this year.
