BAG chairman: There is 'no doubt' Brexit is causing 'great uncertainty to many'

British Aviation Group (BAG) chairman Chris Chalk highlighted (29-Jun-2016) the uncertainty in the UK following Brexit stating, "There is no doubt that the result is causing great uncertainty to many, both in the UK and around the world and this will continue for some considerable amount of time". Mr Chalk continued: "However there are some 250 million passengers going through our UK airports (some 5% of the world's total), and that is going to continue under one government or another. This growth will require continued investment in our airport infrastructure with provision of additional runway capacity remaining a priority" adding: "Whilst the changes in the legal position of the UK in context of Europe will take at least two years to finalise there will be many plans being put in place well in advance of then. There will inevitably be other changes that will continue on for years to come". [more - original PR]
