Azul and GOL had already commenced a codeshare agreement covering domestic routes in Brazil as of 24-May-2024, with expectations of it being the largest in the world1 2 3. Azul's CEO, John Rodgerson, expressed confidence that Brazil's antitrust regulator would not oppose the codeshare due to the lack of overlapping routes2. The MoU with Abra Group marks a deeper potential consolidation following these developments4 5.
