Azerbaijan’s flag carrier creates its own low-cost brand

Azerbaijan Airlines announced (20-Feb-2016) plans to establish a new low-cost carrier brand AZALJET, to commence operations using existing infrastructure on 28-Mar-2016. Baggage and meals onboard AZALJET services will be provided for an additional fee. CJSC AZAL president Jahangir Asgarov said: "This business provides saving on a number of services that allows significantly reducing costs compared with classic air carriers. At the same time, we, as before, guarantee a high level of safety and service on all flights of Azerbaijan's flag carrier."
