Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (08-Sep-2011) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines for the 12 months ended Jun-2011:

• Passenger numbers: 54.8 million, +5.8% year-on-year;
• Top five domestic city pairs:
  • Melbourne-Sydney: 7.9 million, +3.5%;
  • Brisbane-Sydney: 4.4 million, +2.7%;
  • Brisbane-Melbourne: 3.1 million, +11.3%;
  • Adelaide-Melbourne: 2.3 million, +11.7%;
  • Gold Coast-Sydney: 2.3 million, +1.4%;
• Load factor: 78.7%, -0.9 ppt;
  • Melbourne-Sydney: 82.8%, +0.9 ppt;
  • Brisbane-Sydney: 80.7%, -1.6 ppts;
  • Brisbane-Melbourne: 80.5%, -2.7 ppts;
  • Adelaide-Melbourne: 83%, -1.2 ppts;
  • Gold Coast-Sydney: 84.6%, +0.9 ppt;
• Passenger traffic (RPKs): +7%;
