Australian Government aviation policy focused on economy, liberalisation and capacity

Australia's Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development GM aviation industry policy Stephen Borthwick, speaking at the CAPA Airport Innovation Day Summit, said (03-Aug-2016) the Australian Government's aviation policy is focused on the importance of international aviation to tourism and the broader economy, increasing global liberalisation while protecting national interests, supporting the entry of Australian airlines to foreign markets and prioritising negotiations to ensure available capacity under bilateral air service agreements to meet future demand.
