ATR sells record 157 aircraft in 2011, delivers 54 turboprops

ATR reports (18-Jan-2012) it recorded its best ever commercial year in 2011 with orders for 13 ATR 42s and 144 ATR 72s and options for an additional 79 aircraft, from 18 customers, including 10 new customers. These firm orders took the manufacturer's order book to a record high of 224 aircraft at the end of 2011, accounting for three years of production with a list value of approximately USD5 billion. ATR will start a production ramp-up in 2012. Leasing companies represented over 20% of ATR's sales in 2011. ATR delivered 54 aircraft in 2011 and plans to deliver over 70 aircraft in 2012 and to increase its deliveries to a minimum of 80 units as of 2013. With the ramp-up of its delivery schedules, ATR expects turnover to increase from USD1.3 billion p/a to USD2 billion p/a in the near future.
