ATA reports 18th consecutive pax revenue rise in Jun-2011

Air Transport Association of America (ATA) announced (20-Jul-2011) US domestic airlines reported a 7% year-on-year increase in passenger revenue in Jun-2011, the 18th consecutive month of revenue growth. Details include:

  • Passenger traffic (RPMs): +0.3% year-on-year;
  • Passenger revenue: +7%;
    • Domestic: +6%;
    • Trans-Atlantic: +5.6%;
    • Trans-Pacific: +5.5%;
    • Latin American/Caribbean: +22%;
  • Passenger yield: 7%;

Air Transport Association of America: "While the overall rate of growth in air travel expenditures appears to be slowing, we are encouraged by continued strength in the Latin American and Caribbean markets.
