ANA, JAL fined USD4.8bn by Korean Fair Trade Commission

All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines confirmed the Korean Fair Trade Commission ordered the carriers pay USD4.8 billion in fines for violating South Korea's antitrust law for international cargo operations (The Journal of Commerce Online, 01-Dec-2010). ANA is required to pay USD1.4 million and JAL approximately USD3.4 million. The Commission has been investigating both carriers, and others, since Oct-2009.
