ANA becomes Japan's largest carrier in Jun-2010

All Nippon Airways (ANA) became the nation's largest carrier in Jun-2010, overtaking Japan Airlines on passenger volume and cargo (Nikkei, 26-Aug-2010). ANA reportedly handled 3.7 million passengers in the month, a 10% year-on-year increase, while JAL handled 3.6 million passenger, a 1% year-on-year decline. ANA's international passenger levels, meanwhile, reportedly increased 30%, while JAL's international passenger levels decreased 6% as the carrier continued to reduce services and withdraw from unprofitable routes.
