VINCI Airports stated ANA Airports of Portugal submitted the engineering, cost and construction report to Portugal’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing on 16-Jul-2026, and planned to submit the final environmental impact assessment to the Portuguese Environment Agency and government by end-Jul-2026.1 Infrastructure and Housing Minister Miguel Pinto Luz said the new airport formed part of a wider aviation strategy, alongside TAP privatisation, Lisbon Humberto Delgado expansion and ATC investment.2
