American Airlines to launch Philadelphia-Casablanca service, first route to Africa
American Airlines announced (08-Aug-2019) plans to launch three times weekly Philadelphia-Casablanca service with Boeing 757 aircraft from 04-Jun-2020 to 08-Sep-2020. This service, subject to government approval, will mark the carrier's first entrance into Africa, with American to be the only US carrier to operate nonstop to Casablanca. American Airlines VP of network and schedule planning Vasu Raja stated the carrier looks forward to working with Royal Air Maroc when it joins oneworld in Jan-2020, which will allow for more connections into Africa such as Marrakech, Lagos and Accra.
