American Airlines previously said its Flagship Suite programme covered retrofits of 777-300ERs and 777-200ERs plus A319/A320s, alongside 787-9 and A321XLR deliveries, to drive premium seating growth through the decade1. The carrier had already introduced Flagship Suite seats on reconfigured 787-9s from 2025, highlighting privacy doors, wireless charging and lounge access2 3. American Airlines CCO Vasu Raja said in 3Q2022 it would retire international and three-class transcontinental first class, shifting capacity into business suites4.
