ALTA notes bilateral restrictions on US-Mexico routes

ALTA executive director Eduardo Iglesias, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2016, concluded (11-Apr-2016) that under the current bilateral agreement between the US and Mexico, the two airline cap on certain routes between the countries creates duopolies in some markets, and some Mexican low cost airlines have been blocked from accessing some of the larger US transborder routes.
