Allied Aviation interested in ILFC

Allied Aviation stated it is willing to offer USD12 billion to acquire International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC), the aircraft leasing unit of American International Group (AIG) (Reuters, 04-Dec-2009). The company wants US Government credit support for a three to five year period, to grant it sufficient time to restructure the business. Allied President, Bob Rose, stated the company has attempted to secure meetings with AIG and the US Treasury, but has not received any response to their requests for 12 months.
