Allegiant considering 737 MAX aircraft for Sun Country Airlines routes

Allegiant Air CEO Greg Anderson, speaking at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Americas, stated (28-May-2026) the LCC is considering deploying Boeing MAX aircraft on Sun Country Airlines routes, adding: "We're now going to have two fleet types, the 737s and the A320 series". Mr Anderson continued: "With our base structure, we have 22 bases, combined 23", noting Allegiant plans to isolate the aircraft by base, stating: "Vegas could be an all A320 series base, Fort Lauderdale an all 737 base, Minneapolis an all 737 base. And so that helps mitigate some of the complexities as well". He added: "Having that flexibility, with used aircraft, with new aircraft, being opportunistic, it's an important element of our business". [more - CAPA TV]
