Alitalia shareholders agree to EUR300m capital increase, board to resign
Alitalia shareholders unanimously agreed (15-Oct-2013) to a capital increase of up to EUR300 million to be offered to shareholders in proportion to the share of capital owned. Members have 30 days from 16-Oct-2013 to exercise their option on the new shares. Subject to approval, Poste Italiane is expected to guarantee subscription of a EUR75 million capital increase, which may remain unexercised. Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit are expected to guarantee subscription of a maximum of EUR100 million of any additional unsubscribed shares. In view of the possible change in ownership resulting from the implementation of the capital increase, Alitalia's board members intend to resign with effect from the meeting to be convened immediately after the capital increase.
