AIT Dublin: Restructuring Iberia would have been more attractive over creating Iberia Express: Walsh

IAG CEO Willie Walsh at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin responded (12-Apr-2013) to a question asking if he would have preferred to create Iberia Express, which he did, or restructure Iberia, which was not possible due to labour restrictions. Mr Walsh inferred he would have preferred to restructure Iberia. "The option is always to restore what you have. It is a better and long-term solution. It's permanent," Mr Walsh said, noting that employees need to recognise change is structural and not due to cyclical changes.
