AIT Dublin: easyJet not focused on frequent flyer programmes due to leisure focus

easyJet Group Commercial Director Catherine Lynn at CAPA's Airlines in Transition conference in Dublin explained (11-Apr-2013) that easyJet has frequent flyer partnerships with Emirates and Nectar points but is not looking to launch its own independent programme because 80% of easyJet's passengers are flying on leisure. Many of those passengers take a single trip a year. "They're not going to earn a lot of points," Ms Lynn said. She explained easyJet's challenge is "How to recognise loyal customers without driving cost and complexity into organisation?" The answer, for now, is easyJet's existing partnerships.
