Airlines for America (A4A) projected (09-Mar-2016) spring 2016 air travel for US carriers will rise to the "highest level ever", with passenger volumes expected to exceed 2015's peak by 3%. Approximately 140 million passengers are expected to fly on US carriers during Mar/Apr-2016, compared to 136.2 million passengers in 2015. A4A VP and chief economist said carriers are increasing the supply of seats commensurately with the expected increase in demand: "The continued growth in passenger volumes can be attributed to the accessibility and affordability of air travel today."
