Airbus to offer increased MTOW for A350-900 from 2020, adding 500nm

Airbus announced (28-Mar-2016) it will offer in optional increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) for the A350-900 from 2020. Combined with aerodynamic enhancements by Airbus and engine improvements to the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB powerplant, reducing fuel consumption by 2%, the increased MTOW version will offer a higher takeoff weight of 280 metric tonnes and a maximum range of 8100nm with a typical full passenger load - 500nm farther than at entry-into-service in 2015.
